Callaway Gardens, and their agency of record, selected Promotions Marketing to co-produce its Memorial Day Weekend events, Labor Day Weekend events, Fourth of July Weekend events, and the inaugural Harvest Moon Festival. Our mission was to re-introduce guests of all ages, to Callaway Gardens, and expose them to all that Callaway has to offer – while bringing new and exciting entertainment elements to the resort.
Promotions Marketing, and its production team, enhanced and managed Callaway’s iconic holiday weekend events, by adding corporate partners, media exposure, food merchants, kids zone elements, a custom car show, farmers market, and a great lineup of national and local entertainment. Top rated bands captivated attendees around Robin Lake Beach, while later in the day, as the sun set, the U.S. Silver Wings lit up the sky with their pyrotechnical descent, enthralling guests with a spectacular nighttime skydiving spectacle! Fourth of July weekend festivities included an amazing fireworks extravaganza, while Memorial Day Weekend featured over a dozen giant hot air balloons, offering tethered rides to guests, and jaw-dropping balloon glows along the beach! These multi-day events still attract tens of thousands of guests each year, from multiple states.
Harvest Moon Festival
In its inaugural year, the Harvest Moon Festival, at Callaway Gardens, was a huge success! Thousands came out to enjoy the food, fun, and the sounds of 21 bands on 2 stages, including the B-52’s, Gin Blossoms, Shawn Mullins, Mat Kearney, Shawn Colvin, Parachute, and many more! While Claire Robinson, of Food Netwok’s “5-Ingredient Fix”, hosted a delicious Harvest Feast and Cooking Demonstration, thousands packed into the 26,000 sq. ft. College Football Experience Tent, throughout the day, where fans were entertained by Live Music, and the nations biggest games on HUGE screens!
Many guests opted to upgrade to the coveted “Harvest Moon Festival VIP Experience”. This exclusive package included: Chef Prepared Culinary Selections, Complimentary Drinks, and Excusive Viewing Areas by the Main Stage (VIP Backstage Bar), with added experiential activations and souvenir swag!
Post event surveys reinforced the success of the event, as over 97% of first-time guests expressed they planned to return to Callaway Gardens, in the near future! More than 69% of attendees had never been to Callaway Gardens before this event! Of those that had been to Callaway Gardens before, over 60% had not been there in the prior 6 months. The average score given by surveyed guests was a 4.5/5.0! And, all lodging options, at Callaway Gardens, were SOLD OUT throughout the weekend!
